IPL 2018: DD have not beaten RR after 2012; Royals lead 10-6

Both teams have been routed in their very first games in the eleventh Indian Premier League (IPL) which started on April 7. While Gautam Gambhir’s Delhi Daredevils (DD) were handed a 6-wicket defeat by a resurgent Kings XI Punjab captained by Ravichandran Ashwin, Rajasthan Royals (RR) who made a comeback this season with an expensive team after serving two years of suspension, were crushed by 9 wickets by former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. DD and RR will take on each other in the sixth game of the IPL at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on Wednesday, April 11.

Here is a summary of the results of the previous encounters between RR and DD since 2008, the inaugural edition of the annual tournament which was won by RR.

DD haven’t beaten RR in IPL for six years now. Their last victory against the Royals came at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in 2012. Between 2008 and 2012, DD had 6-4 lead over RR but the latter won six games in a row between 2013 and 2015 to make it 10-6. They have played 16 games in all.

2008:

Game 1: DD won by 9 wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi
RR 129/8 in 20 overs; DD 132/1 in 15.1 overs. MoM Farveez Maharoof (DD) for taking 2 wickets for 11 runs.

Game 2: RR won by 3 wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium

Semifinal: RR won by 105 runs at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
