The Kings XI Punjab recently announced their new captain for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The KXIP camp will be led by veteran Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin in the IPL 2018. Certainly, Ashwin would be looking forward to the opportunity of leading the side that has big names like David Miller, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel.

The good wishes came in pouring for R Ashwin soon after the announcement was made by the KXIP camp. Ashwin has been getting a lot of congratulatory tweets. One among such good wishes came from a former KXIP skipper too. Veteran South African batsman, David Miller, congratulated Ashwin on being appointed as the new captain. Miller took to micro blogging site Twitter to congratulate the Indian offie.

In his tweet, Miller remarked that a few exciting years lie ahead for the Kings under the leadership of R Ashwin. Miller has been a key member of the KXIP camp for a long time now. He has been the batting mainstay of the team for half a decade now.

Miller led the Kings XI Punjab team in the 2016 edition of the tournament. He, however, had quit the captaincy midway through the season owing to his poor form on the personal front. Murali Vijay took over as the captain after Miller left the role. Last season, the Kings were led by Glenn Maxwell.

Here is what David Miller tweeted:

“Congrats to @ashwinravi99 on being named @lionsdenkxip captain. Exciting few years ahead. #kxip #IPL2018,” David Miller wrote in his tweet for R Ashwin.

Ravichandran Ashwin was quick to respond back to the congratulatory tweet of Miller. In his response, R Ashwin thanked Miller for his good wishes. Also, he remarked that he is hoping to see him soon at the KXIP camp. “Thank you so much, see you soon,” Ravichandran Ashwin responded to David Miller’s congratulatory tweet.
