Mumbai Indians (MI) have got off to a worst possible start to their title defence in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They’ve lost both the matches by 1 wicket with 1 ball to spare and losing close matches hurt even more. Moreover, their gun all-rounder Hardik Pandya twisted his ankle during the tournament opener and had to sit out against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which was a huge blow for them. However, he seems to have recovered from his injury as he was seen sweating in the nets ahead of the team’s next game.

MI will face Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and it will be their first afternoon game. Both the teams are yet to get on board even after playing two matches and one of them are expected to get back on track on the day. Though the home side looks favourites on paper, Delhi too have a strong unit and can trump any team on their day.

Who will be dropped for Pandya?

Hardik Pandya, ahead of the crucial game, was seen sweating it out in the nets during the optional training session of the team on Friday. After a brief warm-up, he bowled almost 3 overs in full tilt to Evin Lewis. Soon, the Mumbai all-rounder and put on his gloves and entered the second net to smash the ball around. He looked at ease while batting even as shots almost hit the press box on the second floor according to the reports in Mid-Day.

While the news of Pandya coming back in the playing XI is a delighting one for the team, Pradeep Sangwan may have to make way for him in this game. He wasn’t impressive in the game against SRH and Pandya will play whenever he is fit given the value he brings to the team.
