Mumbai Indians continue to falter at the last step as they lost for the 4th time in five matches in this season that went down to the last over. Their former player Krishnappa Gowtham powered Rajasthan Royals to a win with an unbeaten 33 in just 11 balls. The home team needed 38 runs in the last 14 balls before Gowtham’s special took them over the line. The last couple of overs during MI’s innings cost them a chance of posting a big total while RR came back strong with the bat in the same stage to seal the game.

Sanju Samson carried his form with a crucial inning during the chase scoring 39-ball 52 with only four boundaries. He shared a 72-run stand for the 3rd wicket with Ben Stokes by running twos on a ground with big boundaries. Samson emerged as the most valuable player of the game by finishing on the winning side. His fifty was valued at 54 lakhs which is equivalent to his average match salary. Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis bagged golden ducks after playing a crucial role in their maiden win of the season. The MI skipper turned out to be the liable player of the game as he edged out Lewis by his retention price.

Jofra Archer made an impactful IPL debut by taking three wickets in his 4th over. His economical bowling helped Royals to bring down Mumbai Indians score by at least 20 runs after the start they got. He gained a value of 40.5 lakhs as per the CricTracker’s player value algorithm while another overseas all-rounder Ben Stokes got 45 lakhs for his crucial 40. Gowtham’s game-changing performance earned him a value of 39.5 lakhs while his opponent in the last over Hardik Pandya fetched 34.5 lakhs from this game.

Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan returned with the fifties after bagging golden ducks in their previous game. The pair’s century stand for the 2nd wicket was key behind MI posting 167/7 on the board. Surya’s 2nd fifty in three games earned him a value of 83 lakhs which is the highest for any player in the game. Ishan Kishan’s maiden fifty for MI was valued at 68 lakhs which is the 2nd highest behind Surya’s in the game.
