The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would lock horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The pitch is expected to be a batsman’s paradise as we have seen thus far in the matches played at the venue. Hence, the bowlers would be in for another tough day in the office. CSK haven’t had an impressive outing against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
On the contrary, RCB defended a score for the maiden time in this season against the Mumbai Indians (MI), which is expected to keep them in good stead ahead of the game. Also, they would have AB de Villiers back to their side, which would help their confidence to a large extent. However, against the might of MS Dhoni’s men, it won’t be a cakewalk for their bowlers to restrict the batsmen.
Meanwhile, the Yellow Army would wish to shed the disappointment of the lacklustre performance at the Eden Gardens and gain back their winning momentum. While their batsmen have been up to the mark, their bowlers have tended to founder at stages. The franchise has won two out of their three games at the venue and would be keen to add to their wins in the newly adopted home ground.
No chances of rain
There are minimum chances of rain and a full match is expected. However, the temperature would be on the higher side and would hover around the 39 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius. The sun would be out throughout and it will also be interesting to find the attributes of the track under the sun. Also, it will be a challenge for the fielding unit when they take charge under the scorching heat.
Overall verdict
Virat Kohli’s men, being in a precarious position, won’t want the game to be curtailed by rain as they require full points to climb the ladder in the league table. The last game between the teams was a witness to a high scoring humdinger and it is speculated to be similar even this time around.
