As we gear up to welcome the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) that kick starts later in the day at Wankhede Stadium, the excitement among the fans is one to reckon with. The fervour mood seems to have taken aback not only the fans but even the veterans of the game who are ecstatic before the mega event.
Former Indian cricketer and present India coach Ravi Shastri, who has had the opportunity to cover Indian cricket in its every ups and downs was excited as the cricket’s biggest T20 carnival is set to enter into its second decade. Shastri has been the impeccable voice in Indian cricket and undoubtedly one of the best to have followed the game from close quarters.
Reckons IPL as the biggest beast
There’s no denying the fact that IPL is the most widely followed cricket league across the globe given the popularity attained by the global brand in its first ten years since inception in 2008. A league that rules the Indian markets for nearly two months with some extravagant cricketing action taking place in the entire country, is embraced by many as the king of Indian summer. Opining on the similar lines, Indian head coach took to Twitter as he waits in anticipation for the league to commence for the eleventh consecutive time.
Ravi, who has commentated in all the ten seasons of the league so far, won’t be seen adorning the commentator role anymore in this season. This is regards to him being at terms with BCCI after he was nominated as India’s head coach that asked him not to take up any other job during his tenure as the coach. In his recent tweet, he warns the entire country to get ready to embrace the exciting months ahead as IPL returns with a bang as he reckons the league as the biggest beasts of them all.
Here’s what he tweeted:
“Get ready to rock, India. The biggest beast of them all has entered your bedrooms #IPL “
