IPL 2018: Suresh Raina resorts to funky new style

Suresh Raina is currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been a fulcrum of the team ever since the opening season as he has racked up runs at will in the middle order for the franchise. Following CSK’s suspension from the tournament owing to match-fixing scandals, he played a couple of seasons for the Gujarat Lions. There he captained the team for a couple of seasons and did reasonably well. However, the franchise was dissolved as the suspended team in CSK forayed back into the cash-rich T20 extravaganza. He was retained in the retention ceremony back in December, which didn’t spring any surprise bearing in mind the reputation he had created for himself over the first eight seasons for the Yellow Army. The illustrious IPL career for Suresh Raina He sustained a calf-injury earlier in the tournament and was ruled out for one match. Subsequently, he missed his first match for MS Dhoni’s men after 158 games, second only to Virat Kohli’s 144 matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The southpaw has scored 261 runs in nine games with a couple of half-centuries to his name as well. Meanwhile, he has taken some time out of his rigorous cricketing schedule in order to get himself a new look. Previously, he used to sport a general beard, however, he transformed his looks completely prior to CSK’s game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on Friday. He customised the same into the trendy French-cut beard and has also spiked his hair.
