Indian skipper across all formats Virat Kohli has been in a golden run of form in 2018 and the world saw his exploits in South Africa. Going by his form, many felt this might as well be Royal Challengers’ season to turn things around, but as many already know, one player can’t win his side the game if the others are not providing ample support.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have already lost 3 games in their first 4 matches. After succumbing horrendously to the Mumbai Indians in the previous game, Kohli has urged the fans to not jump to conclusions as there’s a lot of cricket still left to be played.

“Well, it’s not even 10 days into the tournament. We are not thinking that way. We can’t still and analyze the entire league right now where we have played just four games and people seem happy to jump the gun pretty soon which we don’t do as a team. If we as a team think like the people outside then there is no point playing the game,” Kohli said in an interview with Times Now.

Orange Cap doesn’t matter when the team is not winning: Kohli

Virat Kohli currently holds possession of the Orange Cap and was not happy with the individual achievement as his side had lost very badly to Mumbai. He also quoted in the Interview that he’d be proud of small contributions which can help his team win rather than the big knocks, like the one against Mumbai, which went in vain.

“Orange cap and all those don’t matter to me when the team is not winning. If you are winning and your contributions aren’t small as well, those are the things you take pride in. So we aren’t even thinking of analyzing the season yet as it is a long road ahead and in our most successful seasons we have actually made a late comeback to make it to the playoffs. I strongly believe we will pick up at the right time,” Kohli explained.

Talking about his incredible run in South Africa, he said that was one of the best series he was a part of in his entire career. He also stressed about the beauty of Test cricket and how much he loves to play a Test series.

“The South Africa series was great. It was one of the most exciting series I was a part of.Test cricket by far the best form in the sport. When you lose a test match, you understand how hard it has been. It’s sometimes difficult for people outside to understand the game, but for us cricketers, it’s the ultimate form of the game. For cricketers, the format will never fade away and are even happy playing 7 or 8 Test matches in a series,” Kohli said.
