IPL 2019: 10 Expensive players who might be released ahead of the next season
These players were picked by respective teams for a huge price but they couldn't live up to the expectations.
3. Carlos Brathwaite (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Carlos Brathwaite came into the limelight back in the 2016 World T20 final against England when he hit four back-to-back sixes to get his team through to win the title. Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services in the auction for a whopping amount of Rs 5 crores.
KKR mainly wanted him to be the perfect replacement if Andre Russell gets injured. But the management included even with Dre Russ in the side and the all-rounder couldn’t live up to the expectation. Brathwaite was able to play two games, in which he could only score 11 runs and could not even get a single wicket. The franchise might consider letting him go and opt for a better overseas bowler instead, the department which leaked runs heavily this season.
