Another eventful week in IPL 2019 has come to an end. Just like the first week, the second week also beheld many brilliant moments. It was the week of youngsters. Many of them put their hands up in pressure situations and performed brilliantly. Some of the veteran campaigners also left behind some moments that the fans would cherish forever.
Kieron Pollard’s catch of Suresh Raina was an absolute delight. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers also came into their elements and performed brilliantly in the game against KKR. While it is tough to sort five best moments from these countless memories, we feel some of the anecdotes are here to stay and will be remembered for a long, long time.
Here are five moments what we think are the best of the week:
1. Sam Curran picking up the first hat-trick of the season
After the poor outing in his first game, many wrote Sam Curran off. They claimed that the young English all-rounder doesn’t belong to this place. However, Curran stunned everyone with his performance against the Delhi Capitals. He helped Kings XI Punjab snatch a victory from the jaws of a defeat only in his second IPL outing.
The Capitals were cruising on auto-pilot mode while chasing a target of 167 runs. However, KXIP pulled things back miraculously and Sam Curran picked up the first hat-trick of this season in the process. The 20-year-old first dismissed the dangerous Colin Ingram. He followed it up with the wickets of Harshal Patel and Kagiso Rabada. The southpaw finished the game with figures of 2.2-0-11-4.
