IPL 2019: Aakash Chopra names 4 teams that have least concerns if they continue to stay away from injuries

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 is slowly gaining pace and already, there have been quite a few thrilling games, leave alone the number of controversies. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won both their games played so far while the others have lost at least a game. On Thursday, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by just six runs in a controversial game leaving the Virat Kohli-led side with its second successive loss.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra, who played the first two seasons of the IPL for teams like KKR and Rajasthan Royals (RR), and is a cricket analyst and commentator now, has named four franchises who he sees in a good shape. In a tweet, the 41-year-old said CSK, KKR, MI and Sunrisers Hyderabad have the least number of concerns if they can continue playing their best XIs without facing any injury issue.

While CSK and KKR are yet to lose a game in this season, MI returned to their winning ways after losing the first game to Delhi Capitals (DC) while SRH will be keen to pick their first points against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the match scheduled at home on Friday.

Chopra though did not call the 4 teams playoff qualifiers

He though stopped short of forecasting that the said four teams will be making the playoffs and rather put it saying: “It’ll be interesting to see how many of these will make it to the last four.” The former cricketer knows how risky it is to predict outcomes in tournaments like IPL as matches and fortunes can change in no time.

While the MI have a lot of current India players who are performing well for their side, teams like CSK and KKR do not have many of them but yet are doing pretty well. Sunrisers, on the other hand, are one of those few sides that emphasise on the bowling as their main strength even though there is no dearth of good batsmen in their ranks.
