IPL 2019: Five Kings XI Punjab players who could join other sides if team gets suspended

Just a few days back, Kings XI Punjab’s co-owner Ness Wadia was sentenced to jail for two years following his arrest during holidaying. Wadia’s arrest came in the wake of him possessing drugs – about 25 grams of cannabis resin – even though he said that it was for his personal use. This came in as a huge blow for KXIP as some of the IPL operations rules might ensure the franchise gets suspended for a while.

The operational rules of the IPL say that no team official can act in a manner that brings disrepute to the team, tournament, the board or the game on or off the turf. This left all the fans confused as to what might happen to franchise, with suspension most certainly on cards.

Kings XI Punjab did a great job in bringing together some amazing players together and formed a fabulous team last year. All that hard work will be undone if the franchise does get debarred. In that scenario, all the star players in the franchise will be heading to different teams for a brief period. 1. Chris Gayle – Royal Challengers Bangalore

Chris Gayle is no stranger to playing with the Royal Challengers Bangalore and if he’s coming for his base price, RCB can afford to go for the big man. He has a proven record at the Chinnaswamy and will be adored by the fans given he decides to come back. The Universe Boss represented the franchise previously from 2011 to 2017, before he was allowed to join the auction.

RCB will be keen to buy some big bowlers next season and will need a lot of money for that. Hence, they will take any star batsman who comes at their base price. Gayle with all his accolades could provide great variety to the current batting lineup and Virat Kohli of all the people will love it the most. This could also help Kohli bat at his favored number three position and the likes of AB de Villiers coming in at number four.
