Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will have a chance to finally get their season on track when they lock horns against each other at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Tuesday. Both the teams have suffered the same fortunes in the league so far, losing their opening three games. However, the Royals could take solace from the fact that they could have won all the three games had they managed to do well in the tight situations. On the other hand, the Royal Challengers have looked completely off-colour so far.

The RCB are entering the game on the back of a thumping 118-run defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. The defeat was their heaviest in the IPL since the 140-run loss in their first-ever IPL game in 2008. Barring the toss, nothing went right for Virat Kohli and his men. Bowling first, the RCB ended up conceding 231 for 2 with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow slamming centuries. In reply, their famed batting lineup came a line-upr as the three-time finalists were bowled out for just 113.

Royals, on the other hand, had the chance to pull off a win against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Chasing 176, they needed 12 runs from the final over with Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer in great form in the middle. However, the former departed on the very first ball and Archer and Shreyas Gopal could score only three runs from the remaining deliveries.

With both the teams struggling to get a win at the moment, the upcoming contest gives them an ideal opportunity to turn their season around. A defeat in this game could very well jeopardise the losing team’s season and dent its hopes of progressing it to the playoffs.
