The 50th match of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will see the top two teams in the points table — Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) — locking orders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both the teams have already qualified for the playoffs and will be eyeing the top-two finish now. Just one win in their two remaining games will be enough for either of the two teams to make it to the top two of the points table which will give them two shots at making it to the final.

Super Kings might be sitting pretty at the top of the points table but there is little denying that they have not been at their dominative best this season. In fact, in the absence of their skipper MS Dhoni, they have looked like one of the weakest sides in the competition. And if coach Stephen Fleming is to be believed then Dhoni is yet not fully fit which can make things tricky for the Super Kings against Delhi. With the likes of Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina not firing, CSK could very well end up in eliminator if they do not start performing well.

But despite all this, Delhi will be well aware of the challenge ahead. Winning at MA Chidambaram Stadium has always been a tough task for any team. Only one team — Mumbai Indians — have won a game in Chennai so far and Delhi will have to be at their best to become the second victorious team in Chennai this year. Delhi have won 5 of their 6 away games this season which will give them confidence ahead of the crunch clash against the defending champions.

How’s the weather expected to be

Both the teams should consider themselves for already making it to the playoffs as the weather forecast is not too promising for today. According to AccuWeather, there are chances of rain throughout the day. During the game time, the chances of rain are around 10% with the cloud coverage being 94% throughout. The humidity will be in the range of 70s which can make for an unpleasant experience while the temperature will be around 33-degree Celsius.
