Sam Curran burst on to the international scene with a stunning display with the bat as well as the ball in the Test series against England. Even the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was highly impressed with the youngster as he even believed that Curran was the game-changer tipped the scale towards England in the highly exciting Test series.

The buzz around is that Sam Curran will be up and ready to participate in the 2019 edition of Indian Premier League(IPL). According to a report in CricXtasy, the 20-year will be available for the entirety of the upcoming IPL season whom most of the franchises, without any doubt, would be rooting for.

Who will be rooting for Sam Curran?

Given that the left-hander is destructive as a batsman and equally aggressive with the ball, most of the IPL teams, if not all, will not be looking at him as an exciting prospect. As he already impressed Indian captain Virat Kohli quite a bit, it wouldn’t be a surprise if his team Royal Challengers Bangalore go hard for him at the auctions.

RCB has historically struggled with lack of depth in their batting which even the iconic duo of Kohli and De Villiers couldn’t compensate. Addition of someone like Sam Curran would make them a much better side as also gives the RCB skipper an extra bowling option.

Kolkata Knight Riders, having released Tom Curran from their line-up, may eye for his younger brother. They were unfortunate last time with the absence of left-arm speedsters Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson and they wouldn’t mind another left-hander who can also be handy with the bat in the death overs.

Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad can also go for the young Sam Curran at the auctions as they have always been a side that roped in young talents and provided them the freedom to perform big. They had a wonderful IPL last year but it was their lower-order batting that didn’t fire when mattered. The explosive all-rounder from England might well be the perfect fit for the foil of SRH.

Sam Curran has a base price of INR 2 crores for the auction and the price should only be few folds higher as he will surely be one of the most sought-after players for the next season. The youngster must be pumped up to take part in one of the biggest T20 leagues in the world and be keen to go through another sensational run.
