Royal Challengers Bangalore will battle it out with Sunrisers Hyderabad in perhaps the biggest game for both the teams. RCB have played well as a team this year but have suffered back to back losses. After Aaron Finch’s consistent failures they have turned to Joshua Philippe, and it is to be seen whether the youngster can keep calm in pressure situations.
They will also be hoping for the return of Navdeep Saini, whose absence in the last game took away considerable pace from the RCB bowling attack. RCB are eyeing a playoff spot after three years and will be desperate to get over the line. Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand have been one of the most consistent sides in the last few years, but have been found wanting this season.
Injuries to a number of key players like Mitchell Marsh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar haven’t helped their cause by any means. They have also chopped and changed their playing XI too many times.
They seem to have gotten the lineup they were looking for, in their last game against Delhi Capitals (DC) which they won by almost 90 runs. They have to win their next game to stay alive in the tournament and will look to put in another solid performance.
For this big game, here are 3 players you can exclude from your Dream 11 team for RCB vs SRH:
1) Kane Williamson (9 credits)
Kane Williamson is a classy player. But he hasn’t got the opportunities he would have liked this year in the IPL. With him coming in to bat at number four if the openers get off to a good start as they did in the last game, Williamson doesn’t get too many balls to score runs.
With the match being in Sharjah, you could expect the likes of David Warner and Manish Pandey to stay at the crease for a long period of time. Purely because Williamson might not get enough balls to make an impact, you can exclude him.
2) Wriddhiman Saha (8 credits)
Opening the innings, Wriddhiman Saha played a match-winning innings in the last game as he scored 87 of just 45 balls. However, we all know, this was perhaps the only excellent innings played by Saha since his ton in the 2014 IPL final. With him requiring fewer credits, you might be tempted to go for him.
But with RCB possessing a potent attack, including a leg spinner in Yuzvendra Chahal, you could see Saha failing. He’s not a typical T20 batsman, and may not be able to replicate his freakish performance. Hence you can keep him out of your 11.
3) Jason Holder (8.5 credits)
Jason Holder has bowled with good control this year and his addition to the SRH line up has been fruitful. He has already managed to pick six wickets in three games. However, if there is one batsman Holder would not want to bowl to, that is AB de Villiers. While he has bowled only five balls to him in T20, in ODIs, de Villiers has smashed Holder for 143 runs in 59 balls.
He has always enjoyed Holder’s medium pace and Warner is likely to keep that in mind. In addition to that, Holder might not get enough batting at Sharjah and hence may not end up doing much. He too has fewer credit requirements, but it would be better to not risk taking Holder against RCB.
