Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against Delhi Capitals in Match 55 of this year’s IPL. After having a great start to the season, RCB seem to have lost the plot recently. They have lost three games consecutively and will have to win this game to guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. There hasn’t been a specific weakness that has popped up recently.
They have just failed to fire as a batting unit collectively. And the stalwarts of the team will have to take charge and turn things around in their favour. On the positive side, the bowlers have done considerably well and will look to put in another impressive performance in their last group game. Delhi Capitals have been worse off.
They have lost four consecutive games and almost all of them have been comprehensive losses. They are lacking any sort of momentum going into this game. Their young guns are under the pump and will have to play extremely calmly today. Their trusted bowling unit were also ineffective in the last couple of games, and DC will hope they regain their mojo in this game.
In this all or nothing DC vs RCB clash, here are 3 players you can opt as multipliers:
1. Virat Kohli (10.5 credits)
Virat Kohli has undeniably not had the season you would expect him to. He has managed 431 runs, but barring two big innings, most of his runs have come scoring 30s and 40s. The impact performances, which Kohli has been known for, have been few and far between. But, this is as big a game as it gets for RCB.
It is virtually a knockout. And after failing in the last few games, we can expect Kohli to bounce back and wrest control in this game. He loves batting against DC and has 868 runs in 21 innings at an average of 62. We can expect Kohli of old to come to the party on Monday.
2. AB de Villiers (10 credits)
AB de Villiers will be extremely disappointed with the way he got out in the last game against SRH. He is also one player RCB expects big innings from. He has delivered quite a few times this season but will have to step up once again.
He too likes playing against Delhi, having scored 439 runs 12 innings at an SR of 164. Big players stand up in big matches, and we can expect de Villiers to take charge in this crucial game. Especially if RCB are chasing, de Villiers could be the man to put your money on.
3. Shreyas Iyer (9.5 credits)
Similar to Virat Kohli, while Shreyas Iyer has managed 414 runs, he hasn’t had the match-winning innings his team expects from him. After having suffered four consecutive losses, Shreyas Iyer the batsman will have to come to the rescue of Iyer the captain.
When set, we know how dangerous a batsman he can be. Iyer also enjoys pace on the ball, and he can take a liking to RCB’s pace attack. While he has been inconsistent in the last few games, we can expect Iyer to play a captain’s knock in this game.
