The IPL auction for the 2020 season is scheduled on 19th December in Kolkata. The events in an IPL auction are similar to those happening on a poker table- imperceptible eye contacts, aspirations of making more out of less, bluffing the competitors into raising and of course, splashing out big money.

Over the years there have been several famous and infamous expensive signings by the franchises- some of them paid off, some disappointed. Delhi Daredevils’ 16 crore bid for Yuvraj Singh remains the most expensive buy to date. Players like Ben Stokes, KL Rahul have performed duly to their buy-ins, whereas Jaydev Unadkat, Yuvraj, Mashrafe Mortaza were a major let-down in accordance with their price tag.

Since the mega auction will take place next year, teams would spend a handsome amount on a single potential match-winner in this auction. So the intriguing question is- Who could be the most expensive player in the upcoming auction? Will Rajasthan once again break all hell for Unadkat? How much will Bangalore spend on finding a potent death bowler?

Here we try to predict the cricketers who could end up with a Royal Flush in the IPL 2020 Auction:-

Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn is as a destructive batsman as any in world cricket. It came in as a surprise when Kolkata Knight Riders released their star opener back in the auction pool. The only downside with Lynn in KKR was his shoulder injury and a high price of 9.6 crores. Hoping to buy back the Aussie at a lower price, KKR might have made a big blunder even before the auction.

Lynn has just won the T10 League with Maratha Arabians; he amassed 371 runs in 8 innings at a sky-high strike rate of 236. His scores of 91*, 89, 67 all came at a strike rate in excess of 200 which contributed massively for the Arabians. Even with an injured shoulder, the right-hander is capable of tearing any bowling attack apart. The opener had a successful run with KKR. Lynn played 40 games for KKR in which he scored over 1200 runs with a strike rate of 140.

The duo of Lynn and Narine holds the record of the highest team score in the powerplay in IPL. He has scored over 400 runs each for the last couple of seasons albeit with a decrease in strike rate. The 29-year-old is a demanded stock in T20 cricket and will once again go for a huge sum. It would be interesting to see if Kolkata can buy back Lynn, who has been their powerhouse at the top.
