Ajinkya Rahane, Trent Boult and Mayank Markande have seen their salaries increased after they were traded by their respective former IPL teams. Rajasthan Royals traded Rahane to Delhi Capitals in exchange for Markande as well as Rahul Tewatia. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals traded Boult to Mumbai Indians.

Due to the trade deals, all three players have got a raise. Rahane earned an extra INR 1.25 crores as he was picked for INR 5.25 crores by his new franchise Delhi Capitals, compared to the INR 4 crores Rajasthan Royals had paid for him in the 2018 auction. On the other hand, Boult earned an extra INR 1 crore in an all-cash deal, since Mumbai Indians paid INR 3.2 crores for him compared to the INR 2.2 crores paid by Delhi Capitals in the 2018 auction.

Markande, who made his IPL debut in 2018 only, got the biggest raise among the players who have been traded. The highly-rated leg-spinner has earned a raise of INR 1.8 crores. While Mumbai Indians had paid Rs 20 lakhs to sign him in 2018 before trading him to Delhi Capitals, Royals paid INR 2 crores for him.

Markande, meanwhile, also became the first player in IPL history to be traded twice in a single window. In August this year, Delhi Capitals had secured his services from Mumbai Indians in exchange of West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford. However, the Delhi-based franchise let the spinner leave after they roped in Ravichandran Ashwin from Kings XI Punjab.

Big names released

All the eight franchises released the list of their released players on Friday ahead of the auction which will take place on 19 December. And just like the previous years, there were some surprising releases. Kolkata Knight Riders released their batting stars Chris Lynn and Robin Uthappa while Royal Challengers Bangalore parted ways with Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetymer and several other big names.

Delhi Capitals also surprisingly released Chris Morris as well as Colin Munro while Sunrisers Hyderabad let go the likes of Yusuf Pathan, Martin Guptill and Shakib Al Hasan.
