Delhi Capitals returned to the top of the points table following a clinical 18-run victory at the Sharjah Stadium against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday night. The Delhi team posted a record total of 228/4 thanks to fifties from Shreyas Iyer (88* off 38) and Prithvi Shaw (66 of 41) while Rishabh Pant smashed a 17-ball 28 towards the end. Nitish Rana’s 35-ball 38 put KKR in the hunt but regular fall of wickets troubled their chase. Eoin Morgan (44 off 18) and Rahul Tripathi (36 off 16) shared a 78-run stand in only five overs for the 7th wicket but the equation went out of Kolkata’s reach following their dismissals.
