The 37th match of the Indian Premier League is going to see action between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on Monday. Thrice the champion in this fancy league, CSK is struggling in this season to prove themselves. After losing their six out of the nine games played, their chances of landing into playoffs appear weak. However, they can still dream of going into the top four if they spark a turnaround with their next clash against the Royals.

Rajasthan is also stumbling this season to make the mark. They will come up with their best set up against Chennai in the next face-off. If Super Kings wish to prove their mettle in the 2020 season, they have to start working up, on certain sections. Some changes can be expected in their lot as Bravo is struggling with a groin injury and will be probably sitting on the bench.

Here’s the predicted Playing XI of CSK for the match against RR

Openers (Sam Curran and Faf du Plessis)

CSK started this trick of opening with Sam in their match against SRH, and it worked well. However, he couldn’t do anything in the last match with the bat. However, he picked one wicket for his team. With his ability to get quick runs, he might open up again for CSK in the next game.

Du Plessis is one significant man for CSK who is constantly fetching runs for the team. In the last match too, he played a brilliant knock of 58 off 47 to push his team forward. His form at the opening position would remain too vital for the Super Kings against Steve Smith and the company.

Middle-Order ( Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni)

The brilliant batter Watson has found his rhythm and is doing well for the team. In the last game too, he came up with a crucial knock of 36 runs. He would be very much expected to provide middle-order strength to the Yellow Army. In the same line, Rayudu’s form would be too important for the team. He is back in his aggressive form and smashed 45 off 25 in the last game too. The team would be looking up for the best contribution from his end.

The legendary skipper MS Dhoni is trying hard but has failed to middle deliveries. He is unable to help his team much with the bat but remains an integral part of the team while leading it. His role behind the wickets is turning quite decent in this season of IPL. He would try his best to change the team’s fate in their next clash.

All-rounders (Ravindra Jadeja)

Ravindra Jadeja was one man who invited appreciation and criticism simultaneously for him in the last match. He showed excellent form with the bat while getting runs for his team in the end. However, his last over to Axar Patel spoiled things for CSK. He would likely come up with a balanced show on Monday.

Bowlers (Piyush Chawla, Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma, and Shardul Thakur)

The spinner Piyush Chawla might find a place in the team in the next clash, as CSK might like to go with an extra bowling option. He has picked up 6-wickets in as many matches he played with an economy of over 8. In the spin section, CSK might bring up their star spinner Imran Tahir in the next game. The arrival of last year’s purple cap holder is much awaited in the team at this point as wickets have started turning in UAE.

Deepak Chahar has always shown brilliance with the new ball for Dhoni’s men and will be expected to display his class pace attack in coming up matches. In the last game, he remained extremely economical and picked two early wickets for Chennai Super Kings.

Picking four wickets in as many matches, Karn Sharma might be taken up as another spin option by the yellow team. He can come as a handy batsman as and when required by the team. Shardul Thakur knocked down in-form Marcus Stoinis in CSK’s previous contest. He is quite in rhythm and might walk up the field with CSK again.
