Royal Challengers Bangalore’s exciting run in IPL 2020 continues as the red army is winning close contests pretty regularly. They are known to break down under pressure in the previous seasons but this year, things have been quite different. Though the core strength of the team still lies in the duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the inexperienced players have played some important cameos regularly.
RCB is also looking more balanced and their bowling has performed far better than any previous seasons. This is one of the biggest reasons for them to persist with the same playing combination, unlike the previous trend. They will be meeting KKR in the next clash whom they defeated quite comfortably in the first encounter.
Here is the predicted XI of RCB for KKR vs RCB:-
Openers (Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal)
Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal have given some important starts to RCB but their performance has been inconsistent in recent times. Aaron Finch has looked promising but he is unable to convert his starts into big knocks. On the other hand, Padikkal has played some important knocks but his scoring rate has come under the scanner.
Middle Order (Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Gurkeerat Singh Mann)
Virat Kohli has been in great form in the recent matches and his consistency has been the greatest strength of RCB. Though he needs to improve his scoring rate, as a sheet anchor, the skipper has been quite impressive. AB de Villiers set the game on fire the last time KKR met RCB. However, this game will be played at Abu Dhabi instead of Sharjah and longer boundaries would mean Kohli and de Villiers’ running between the wickets will be more significant.
Gurkeerat Singh Mann has played three games in this season but he got a chance to bat only in last one. His role is of a floater and his supporting innings against RR was extremely significant as AB de Villiers’ master class pulled off a stunning victory for RCB and he would be expected replicate the same.
All-rounders (Washington Sundar and Chris Morris)
Washington Sundar and Chris Morris have been their prominent bowling options and both of them have been quite economical. Morris has played only 4 games and has already picked up 9 wickets for RCB. Apart from their bowling skills, their batting has also been quite handy. Both of them have played important attacking innings for RCB in this season.
Bowlers (Shahbaz Ahmed, Isuru Udana, Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini)
Yuzvendra Chahal and Shahbaz Ahmed will give them the spin bowling options which can be extremely useful on the large ground of Abu Dhabi. As the pitch here has been a sporting one, all the bowlers are expected to get some help from it. Isuru Udana and Navdeep Saini will be supported by Chris Morris and the trio will handle the duties of death bowling for RCB.
