Rajasthan Royals will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next encounter. The game has a great significance for both the teams as one more defeat can hamper their chances of making it to the playoffs quite massively. RR won their last game against CSK as their bowling effort was too good for the Chennai batsmen.

However, it is their batting which has created a lot of trouble for them. They are still struggling with their batting order and their star performers have been out of touch for quite some time. To take another step towards the playoffs, RR would expect their star batsmen to perform as per the expectations and win the important games.

Here is the predicted playing XI of RR for Match 40, RR vs SRH:-

Openers (Ben Stokes and Robin Uthappa)

Robin Uthappa played an outstanding knock against RCB but he failed to absorb the pressure against CSK. Ben Stokes has opened the innings four times and he has looked uncomfortable while doing that. However, to counter SRH’s left-arm pacers, Stokes can be a vital weapon. However, to grab some control in the game, RR would hope for their openers to bat aggressively at top.

Middle Order (Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Riyan Parag)

Steve Smith and Jos Buttler have played substantial knocks in the recent games and that should give confidence to RR. Their trouble is with their Indian batsmen, as Samson and Parag haven’t been impressive apart from one or two stand out knocks. RR would also want to figure out the right order for their batting unit, as Samson hasn’t been at his best on number three or number four.

All-rounders (Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer)

Rahul Tewatia was player of the match in their last clash against SRH. Rajasthan would hope a similar performance from their star all-rounder. RR would also hope for Jofra Archer‘s dream season to continue with the ball. As their batting has been under the scanner, their lower order looks capable enough to stand up when required.

Bowlers (Shreyas Gopal, Kartik Tyagi and Ankit Rajpoot)

To pick the ideal new ball companion for Jofra Archer can be an arduous call for captain Steve Smith. Both Rajpoot and Tyagi have bowled well for them. Shreyas Gopal’s leg-spin could be a very handy weapon for RR as they gear up for a slow pitch. Overall their bowling looks decent but the lack of variety can be a matter of concern for RR.
