Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has made his predictions for Match No.33 of the 2021 IPL between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, September 22 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The veteran reckoned that the Capitals shouldn’t have much difficulty in coming out trumps in their upcoming encounter in Dubai.

The Capitals are currently placed at second in the points table with 12 points from eight games. Prior to the start of the UAE leg, they were sitting on top of the table. But Chennai Super Kings toppled them after beating the Mumbai Indians by 20 runs on Saturday, September 19. The Capitals also have a decent net run rate of 0.547 from their six victories.

Chopra felt that the Sunrisers would be under immense pressure to win the upcoming game as they are languishing right at the bottom of the points table. If the Orange Army lose their next match, they can’t afford to let complacency sneak in, going into their last six group games.

Aakash Chopra opines

“I’m going with Delhi to win this match. It’s because my heart lies in Delhi and also due to SRH’s poor form in the tournament. If Hyderabad loses one more game, then that’s about it. Then SRH’s chances will come down to mathematical calculations. So SRH will be under pressure to perform well,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his official YouTube channel.

The Sunrisers won’t be having the services of Jonny Bairstow, who pulled out of the tournament before the start of the second leg. Bairstow was the leading run-scorer for the team when the first half of the event took place in India back in April. Thereafter, the Sunrisers have roped in left-handed batter Sherfane Rutherford as his replacement for the rest of the T20 league.

The Capitals, in the meantime, have been bolstered after Shreyas Iyer returned to their scheme of things. Iyer missed the first leg after he dislocated his shoulder during India’s home series against England. In his absence, Rishabh Pant lead the team with authority and dignity. The last time the Capitals and the Sunrisers locked horns, DC went on to win the Super Over.
