The 40th match of the Indian Premier League is currently underway between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Dubai International Stadium. Winning the toss, Royals skipper Sanju Samson opted bat, citing that it has been a choice that has worked for the team so far.

“We are looking to bat first. Team combo, atmosphere suits us to bat first. We learn from the loss in the last game. We are having fitness issues. Kartik Tyagi is out with injury. Chris Morris and Evin Lewis return in place of  David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi,” said Samson at the toss.

His counterpart, SRH’s Kane Williamson said: “We would have had a hit as well. But we will look to adapt early with the ball and limit their total. Few young players are getting opportunities. Jason Roy is at the top for David Warner. Pandey, Kedar miss out. Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma are playing.

“Sid Kaul replaces injured Khaleel. Today there is something fresh. There are a lot of changes. So it is important that the youngsters come in and stick to their strengths. As a unit we do want to be putting performances together. That is the focus for us even though we are sort of no longer in the comp. We want to play the kind of cricket we are proud of.

VRV Singh predicts RR to win

Speaking at CricTracker’s Live show In The Air, former Indian cricketer VRV Singh predicted Rajasthan Royals to win. “I will go with Rajasthan Royals because they look as more settled side in comparison to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both the sides have made plenty of changes, and those players will play for the first time in the UAE, so they will take time to get into their rhythm. But even there, Rajasthan’s team is looking more settled,” he said.
