Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) poor run of form in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) doesn’t seem to end. The team, led by David Warner, are languishing at the bottom of the table with losses in all their three matches. On Saturday, April 17, the Orange Army lost to the Rohit Sharma-captained Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Chasing 151 runs, SRH started handsomely courtesy of a 67-run partnership for the opening wicket between Warner and Jonny Bairstow. But once the duo got out, the Sunrisers couldn’t adapt to the conditions at the Chepauk. Vijay Shankar promised with a 25-ball 28, but after Jasprit Bumrah got rid of him, the Orange Army lost all the momentum, and eventually lost the match.

In the meantime, after SRH’s loss, Kedar Jadhav is trending on Twitter for some reasons. The right-hander was a part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last season but was released. Thereafter, the Sunrisers picked him up at his base price of INR 2 crores.

Here’s how the netizens reacted:

SRH need to play smart cricket, feels David Warner

Meanwhile, Warner, the Sunrisers’ skipper, reckoned that his team needs to be smarter in their approach. He lauded the bowlers for being accurate, but he came down hard on the batters and urged them to learn from their mistakes. Warner also shared an update on Kane Williamson, who’s yet to take the field in IPL 2021.

“I don’t know how to take that. Two of us were set but it proves that if you don’t bat deep, you can’t win. That was my game-plan, a great piece of fielding from Hardik though. These are very much chaseable targets, if you get a partnership and if there is one person at the end, you can chase it down,” Warner said after the match.

“The guys need to play smart cricket, the bowlers have been fantastic and this wicket was slower than the previous wickets that we have played. You gotta learn from mistakes and it’s our responsibility at the top to bat deep.

“We have to move forward and keep having smiles on our faces. We have to speak to the physios, he’s (Williamson) coming along nicely and plays a big role in our squad,” he added.
