The twenty-third match of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is currently in progress at Shree Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Winning the toss, the Sunrisers’ skipper David Warner opted to bat, feeling that the team would want to have enough runs on the board and build pressure during the chase later on.

On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, the Chennai Super Kings is the much superior side, having won 10 to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s four in the two teams’ 14 meetings in the tournament. In the previous edition, both SRH and CSK won a game each playing against each other. Scoring 164/5, SRH managed to restrict CSK to 157/5, winning by 7 runs in the first game, while CSK won by 20 runs as they successfully defended the total of 167/6 in the second meeting.

The former India cricketer, coach, and the CricTracker expert Lalchand Rajput reckons that the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will be able to take an edge over David Warner and his men in this encounter and will record their fifth consecutive win of the season.

Hard to predict a safe score but SRH can defend 180: Lalchand Rajput

Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Rajput said he would want to go with the Super Kings as they have been in brilliant form and have a momentum of four wins behind them. He also weighed in on what might be a safe score at the venue. “I would like to go with CSK tonight. I have not seen the wicket so telling a safe total is difficult. But in my opinion, anything in the range of 170-180 will be hard to chase.”

“In this format, no total is safe because a batsman might get going and chase it down all by himself but if SRH can manage this much, I feel they have got ample bowling resources to restrict any opposition,” he said.

Meanwhile, both the teams made a couple of changes as CSK brought in pacer Lungi Ngidi and spinner Moeen Ali in place of Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir, while SRH included Manish Pandey and Sandeep Sharma for Virat Singh and Abhishek Sharma.
