Preview

There’s nothing much to choose between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) going into their contest on Tuesday, April 27 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams are locked on four wins from five matches with Rishabh Pant’s DC having a better net run rate at 0.096.

In their previous game, the Capitals beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Super Over. The Challengers, on the other hand, would be keen on getting back to winning ways after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat them by 69 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

In the meantime, RCB’s Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa have returned to Australia and would be unavailable for the rest of the tournament. Both the Challengers and DC would be looking to go to the top of the points table with a win in their next encounter.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Ahmedabad has been good for batting, especially in the five-match T20I series between India and England. Scores under the 160-mark can be hard to defend.

Keeping in mind the numbers at the venue, batting second should be the way forward. The conditions would be hot with the temperature around 38 degrees Celsius. The humidity won’t be on the higher side though.

Probable best batsman of the match

Virat Kohli– Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli has monstrous numbers against the Capitals. In 23 matches, the right-hander has notched 897 runs- the most he has scored against any team- at an average and strike-rate of 59.80 and 136.53 respectively.

He also has eight half-centuries to show for his efforts with a top score of 99. In the ongoing edition, Kohli has managed 151 runs, but he failed to deliver in the match against CSK.

Harshal Patel– Royal Challengers Bangalore

That he went for 37 runs in his final over against CSK doesn’t take away the fact that Harshal Patel has been RCB’s standout bowler in the tournament. He is the Purple Cap holder with 15 scalps to his name at an economy rate of 8.35.

Before the over when Ravindra Jadeja went berserk, Patel had an economy of 6.84, which is stupendous considering that he mostly bowls at the death for his team.

Today’s match prediction: Bangalore to win the match.
