If you ever wanted to witness a match between two completely contrasting sides, then the 44th match of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is your perfect opportunity, as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns with each other at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

It seems as if the CSK side can do no wrong. The MS Dhoni-led side has pretty much ticked all the boxes. The CSK players have stepped up to the task, their openers have given them good starts, and their bowlers have done the job as well. And, the result is, the ‘Men in Yellow’ have topped the IPL points table, having lost just 2 out of the 10 matches in the entire tournament.

On the other hand, the Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) side has got almost nothing right and is occupying the last place in the points table. They have won only 2 out of the 10 matches that they have played in the competition. The ‘Orange Army’ has bottled up straightforward chases, and has failed to seize the key moments in a contest.

But then, if at all someone wants to find at least one similarity between the two sides, then look no further than the men who lead both the teams. MS Dhoni and Kane Williamson are ‘cool as cucumber’ type of cricketers. Both men are vastly experienced as well and do not get flustered when faced with adversity.

In their previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Ravindra Jadeja bailed out the Chennai Super Kings side with a sensational 8-ball 22. His savage assault in the 19th over of the CSK innings that was bowled by Prasidh Krishna, where Jadeja carted the right-arm pacer for 2 fours and 2 sixes turned the match on its head and helped CSK post a 2-wicket victory.

For the SRH side, Jason Roy has come in like a fresh lease of life. The England opener scored a confident 60 off 42 deliveries at the top of the order for the Hyderabad side in their previous rubber and helped the ‘Orange Army’ chase down the target of 165 set by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) with 7 wickets to spare.

So, can the CSK side make it four out of four in the UAE leg, or will the ‘Orange Army’ spring a surprise on the ‘Men in Yellow’?

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Sharjah is extremely slow, and run-scoring will not be easy. It is imperative for the batsmen to spend some time on this surface, and once they do, they can start scoring freely.
