Delhi Capitals will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Match 56 of the Indian Premier League. The Rishabh Pant-led side has enjoyed a successful run in IPL 2021 and is placed at the top of the points table. Their last encounter against Chennai Super Kings was a highly anticipated contest.

In what was the last over thriller, DC emerged triumphant against CSK and won the game by three wickets. One of the major reasons for Delhi’s success has been their lethal bowling attack that has stood tall for the side. The script was quite similar against the MS Dhoni-led side as DC’s bowlers did not give away easy runs owing to which the team managed 136 runs.

Chasing down the total wasn’t a cakewalk for Delhi either. It was a clash between the table toppers and it is a no-brainer that it kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Last year’s runners-up now will be all raring to strengthen their position at the top of the points table and will be keen on winning this encounter.

Here’s the Delhi Capitals Predicted XI for the RCB vs DC Match:

Openers- Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw

Both the openers have created problems for the strongest of the bowling units in the tournament. Though their form has been fluctuating in the UAE leg of the IPL, one cannot write them off. In the previous match against CSK, Shaw provided a flying start to the team with some fearless strokes.

Dhawan, on the other hand, stayed firm on the ground to hold the fort and anchor DC’s innings. He played a knock of 39 runs off 35 balls that included as many as three fours and two sixes. Heading into the last league game, both the openers will be determined on putting a spirited show on display.

Middle-order – Shimron Hetmyer, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ripal Patel

Shimron Hetmyer is a good timer of the ball and possesses the flair to play quickfire knocks for the team. In the previous match against CSK, he was sent quite down the order but still finished the job for the team. Hetmyer’s unbeaten 28 off 18 balls helped DC to go past the target.

The team’s middle-order provides a lot of depth and belief and on their day can change the fortunes of the game. Shreyas Iyer has shown some good signs for the team whilst making his comeback from injury. Skipper Rishabh Pant and Ripal Patel further add more strength to DC’s batting lineup.

All-rounders- Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin

The steady start from CSK prompted Rishabh Pant to bring spin to the fore early on. The plan worked for the team as Axar Patel made sure he pulls the momentum towards DC. Patel bowled a length ball which Faf du Plessis looked to pull but handed a straight catch to Shreyas Iyer at deep midwicket.

He broke the opening partnership and then chimed into scalp the wicket of Moeen Ali as well. Off-spinner Ravi Ashwin’s prowess is known to all. He has a plethora of variations under his sleeves that can put the batters in a spot of bother. He also comes in pretty handy with the bat and can gather important runs for the team down the order.

Bowlers- Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan

On most occasions, DC’s bowlers have led the team dominantly. The team arguably has one of the most lethal bowling units in the tournament that can tear apart the strongest of the batting lineups. Avesh Khan is currently the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

The speedster has scalped 22 wickets in the league so far. Kagiso Rabada went wicketless in the last match, but he bowled an economical spell. As the team is now all raring to face the Virat Kohli-led side that has a power-packed batting unit, the team’s bowlers will have a huge task in hand.
