Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has been invited to watch the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) final. The invitation was extended by the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly. The 2021 IPL final will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on 15th October 2021.

But then, if reports are to be believed, Ramiz Raja might not be in attendance for the summit clash of IPL 2021. The BCCI extended the invitation to Raja during the Asian Cricket Council’s Executive Board meeting.

It has also been reported that both Raja and Ganguly discussed several areas of common interest for both during this meeting.

Pakistan and India will clash with each other in the 2021 T20 World Cup

On 24th October 2021, cricket fans will be treated to a blockbuster match, as arch-rivals India and Pakistan will square off against each other in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. This high-profile clash will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It must be noted here that the Pakistan side has never managed to defeat India in the T20 World Cup. However, there was one rubber that ended in a tie in 2007, but India emerged triumphant in that encounter too, winning the bowl out.

Both India and Pakistan have won the T20 World Cup once each. India won the inaugural edition of the tournament in the year 2007 in South Africa. And, India defeated Pakistan in the summit clash to clinch the title. India posted a total of 157/5, and in reply, the Pakistan side gave India a scare, but was bowled out for 152 runs, and fell short of the target by 5 runs.

On the other hand, the Pakistan side won the 2009 edition of the T20 World Cup that was held in England. The Pakistan side defeated the Sri Lankan side with 8 wickets and 8 balls to spare in the summit clash of the tournament.

India and Pakistan last met each other in a T20I match on 19th March 2016, during the 2016 T20 World Cup. India beat Pakistan with 6 wickets to spare in that encounter.
