IPL 2021: Team-wise one trustworthy player in the season

A team that has some dashing overseas names, there’s no doubt that someone like a Jofra Archer would be their most trustworthy pick. However, with Archer not being available for IPL 2021, undoubtedly someone like Jos Butter then becomes the next best pick. Although there are other players like skipper Samson himself, who can become trustworthy players, irregularity and variability in terms of runs do sway them away.

Someone like Jos Buttler is not only RR’s biggest match-winner in their entire batting order but also a consistent run machine. Until IPL 2020, where Buttler did had a reasonable year, the wicketkeeper-batsman had scored 859 runs in his last two seasons at a tremendous average of 47. Not only he was remarkable by opening the innings, but also at times RR’s only reliable batsman who could stay till the end and comfortably finish games.

Coming from his T20Is opening stint, where he averages more than 50 as a top-order player, the RR camp would be expecting something similar again from Buttler. It was in the IPL 2018 when RR had last qualified for the playoffs and for the upcoming season a Buttler show will be the need to yet again have a soaring IPL.
