2- Promote Rovman Powell to number 5

Rovman Powell is a power-hitter. A pure batter, the West Indian can be a match-winner on his day. The opening slots and numbers three and four are occupied by Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mandeep Singh, and Rishabh Pant. This leaves Powell to bat at number 5.

Lalit Yadav’s move to number five was considered a good strategy. It even worked in the game against Mumbai Indians where his partnership with Axar Patel guided Delhi to victory. He scored an unbeaten 48 in that game, followed by a 22-ball 25 against Gujarat Titans. Whereas Powell has only managed scores of 0 and 20 in those two games.

This is compromising the West Indian’s game. Powell bats at number four for West Indies. It will be very difficult for him to adapt to number six and play the role of a finisher. With Powell at five, followed by Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur, the Capitals look a phenomenal side.
