The Indian players fared better than the overseas stars in the first week. With seven weeks still remaining in the tournament, these players have set the tone right for the upcoming games.

One of the finest young Indian talents, Ishan Kishan was the costliest buy of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction, where Mumbai Indians dished out INR 15.25 crores to regain his services. This was due to his terrific performances for the Mumbai Indians in the last few editions.

The wicketkeeper-batter, Kishan justified his price tag by providing the contribution of 81 off 48 balls and helped the team to post a total of 177 runs on the board in their opening game against DC. He stitched crucial partnerships with Rohit Sharma and the debutant Tilak Varma to form a fine base for the team to launch in the final overs.

Kishan finds a place in this XI as an opener and can serve as a wicketkeeper as well. With this kind of form, he will surely be one of the players to watch out for in the tournament.
