IPL 2022: CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja almost takes down Dwayne Bravo with a hit in nets

During Chennai Super Kings’ practice session at the nets, skipper Ravindra Jadeja almost took down Dwayne Bravo with a hit off the latter’s bowling. Bravo tried to take a return catch but quickly backed off seeing the speed of the ball.

In what was a move to protect himself from any unforeseen injury, Bravo laughed off at the situation while Jadeja pulled his leg saying there was no chance the all-rounder could have taken that. To which Bravo cheekily replied that in the game, he would have put his hand in the middle in such situations to stop the ball, whether he catches it or drops it.

CSK shared a video on their social media handle, wherein the duo can be seen engaged in a fiendly banter. While the CSK skipper reckons Bravo couldn’t have stopped the shot in any situation, Bravo joked it off saying he can. The former West Indies all-rounder explained in action how he will go on to take the attempt. The two had a laugh after the scene as they resumed the session.

Speaking about CSK’s stint at the IPL 2022, Jadeja has not been able to do his best job as a captain. The four-time champions recorded their first win of the tournament against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, after losing four on a trot.

It seemed like the team had fallen apart after the changes in the line-up and leadership group after the auction. However, they managed to grab a comprehensive win against RCB by putting forth 216 runs in the first innings, courtesy to their star batters Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa.

The defending champions returned back to form in their previous game and will look to continue the momentum against the Gujarat Titans in their next encounter. The captaincy pressure is seen on Jadeja as he is unable to perform with the bat in times of need. After being dismissed for a duck in the previous game, he went on to pick three wickets in the game.

It will be interesting to see how CSK formulates the strategies to face the table-toppers Gujarat Titans in their next encounter at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
