Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing each other in the 56th match of IPL 2022, to be played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. So far in this IPL season, KKR have won four and lost seven matches, while MI have won two and lost eight. MI have played thrice at the DY Patil Stadium this season, winning once and losing twice, while KKR have lost both their matches at this venue in 2022. KKR won by five wickets when both these teams faced each other earlier this season.

The openers for Kolkata Knight Riders have been massively out of form. However, Shreyas Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell have been brilliant for the team in the middle order. With the ball, Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee have been brilliant while Russell also has a knack for taking wickets in a bunch.

After beginning the season with eight consecutive losses, Mumbai Indians have bounced back to win two matches on the trot. However, the damage was already done as they have been eliminated. Though their openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have been disappointing, the middle-order pair of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma has been impressive. Murugan Ashwin has been their top bowler in the last few matches.
