Punjab Kings have already been eliminated from the IPL 2022 after losing 7 out of their 13 games so far in the tournament. They have 12 points from the 6 games that they have won. In the next match, they will be up against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

On the other hand, SRH is also on the same stage as Punjab and they too are eliminated as well. Williamson’s boys have also lost 7 games out of 13 so far in the 15th season of the IPL. In the last league match, both teams would look to end their campaign on a winning note.

Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal and the team management might come up with a couple of changes in their playing XI for their last clash of this season against SRH.

Here’s a look at the Punjab Kings’ predicted playing XI against SRH:

Openers: Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan

Senior English batter Jonny Bairstow has played a few small but blistering knocks this season for Punjab Kings. In the 10 matches that he has played so far, Bairstow has scored 230 runs with an average of 23. He has scored 2 fifties with his highest score being 66.

Apart from Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan has always stood up for Punjab Kings this season and is in sublime touch. He has played some outstanding knocks with his bat and has bailed the team out on many occasions. He has played in all the games of PBKS so far this season and has scored 421 runs with an impressive average of 38.27 and also has 3 match-defining half centuries to his name.

Middle Order: Liam Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal (c) and Jitesh Sharma (wk)

With the likes of Liam Livingstone and Mayank Agarwal, the middle order of Punjab is quite stable. Livingstone has been phenomenal for Punjab and has scored 388 runs at a strike rate of 177.98. Punjab Kings captain, Mayank Agarwal has been on and off this season as he hasn’t scored runs consistently. In 11 innings, he has scored only 195 runs with a single half-century.

The wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma was the highest run-scorer for PBKS in their last match against DC. He scored 44 runs from 34 balls including 3 fours and 2 massive sixes. The team management would want him to continue his good form against SRH as well and end this season on a high.

All-rounders: Shahrukh Khan and Rishi Dhawan

The all-rounders’ department hasn’t lived up to the expectations this season. Shahrukh Khan has played only 7 games this season and has rather been average compared to his last year’s heroics. PBKS might give him a chance against SRH as they are already out of the tournament and would want him to regain his form.

The senior all-rounder from Himachal Pradesh, Rishi Dhawan could not do well in the last game as he scored only 4 runs with the bat and was wicketless with the ball in hand. Punjab would want to stick with him for their last league game against SRH.

Bowlers: Harpreet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep Singh

The bowling department of PBKS has performed well this season. Senior South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has been the highest wicket-taker for them this season with 22 scalps from 12 matches. Harpreet Brar was quite expensive in the last match as he gave away 29 runs from his 3 overs and was wicketless.

Arshdeep Singh has performed consistently this season. Though he has only picked up 10 wickets from 13 matches, he has been economical and has bowled well in the death overs. Rahul Chahar was Punjab’s most economical bowler in the last match as he gave away only 19 runs in his full quota of overs. He would wish to add a few more wickets to his tally against SRH.

PBKS’ predicted playing XI for the SRH clash: Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Shahrukh Khan, Liam Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal (c), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Harpreet Brar, Rishi Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep Singh.
