IPL 2022: Wasim Jaffer picks his Best XI of this season

The Indian Premier League 2022 has been a huge success, this season we saw some amazing display of talent from overseas players as well as from some uncapped Indian players. The crowds’ response has been terrific as well, which can be witnessed by the record number of people in attendance for the finals between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

This season saw experienced overseas players like Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone forming a key part of their respective teams. On the other hand, the uncapped Indian players like Tilak Varma and Umran Malik displayed their fine talent to help their respective sides to attain better results. Ahead of the Finals, the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer picked his Best XI of this season.

Wasim Jaffer chose Hardik Pandya as captain of his Best XI Team

Jaffer reckoned that he is impressed with Hardik Pandya‘s leadership, and chose him as the captain of his Best XI team. Thereafter, he picked the former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra as the coach of his team.

“I have been hugely impressed with Hardik’s captaincy, and there’s no surprise he is the captain pick for my team. Then Ashish Nehra, the man of the moment is the coach of my team,” said Jaffer on the ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker powered by Sky247.net.

Players like Liam Livingstone and David Miller found a place in Jaffer’s Best XI of IPL 2022 at the number five and six positions respectively. The Englishman Livingstone had the best IPL season, with 437 runs at a strike rate of 182.08, and was also impressive with the ball in hand as he picked up six wickets for Punjab Kings (PBKS).  The Proteas batter Miller has so far garnered a total of 449 runs and has played a key role to take the Titans into the Finals with some of his match-winning knocks in the final overs, with the recent one coming in Qualifier 1, wherein he smashed three sixes on the trot to finish the game.
