The Delhi Daredevils lost their crucial match against the Rising Pune Supergiants and hence have now found themselves in a point of no return. They need to win their remaining two matches in order to stay alive in the race to the playoffs. They have their task cut out and their first roadblock comes against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at their new home venue Raipur.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a good break after registering a convincing win over the Kings XI Punjab. A win for the David Warner-led side will ensure them a playoffs berth and a position in the top two for sure. In the last 6 matches played at the venue, the side batting first has won it 4 times. This can be accredited to the fact that the boundaries at the Shahid Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium are quite long.
Team News-
Delhi Daredevils:
The Delhi Daredevils camp is feeling the heat now as they have lost their last two games. The think tank needs to get the act together to pull off a win against the settled unit of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The opening has been a concern for the Daredevils as Quinton de Kock hasn’t found a settled partner yet. Shreyas Iyer has had a miserable run this season and so has been the story for Mayank Agarwal. Sanju Samson might rejoin de Kock at the opening slot. Nathan Coulter-Nile might make way for Carlos Brathwaite.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be coming up after a good 3-day break into the match. With a playoff berth almost confirmed for them, they might well have the privilege of playing without any pressure. David Warner has been in rollicking form and Shikhar Dhawan has come up good too. The middle-order was a critical area for them but Yuvraj Singh, Deepak Hooda and Ben Cutting, all were amongst the runs in the game against Punjab. The bowling has been fantastic for the Sunrisers with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman clicking well throughout the tournament. Ashish Nehra’s injury could pave way for Barinder Sran in the playing XI.
