IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. Rising Pune Supergiants and the Kings XI Punjab are the only teams that are out of the race for the playoffs. All other teams have their chances to make it to the playoffs. Kings XI Punjab lost their must-win game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH, having won the match, have now consolidated their top spot with 16 wins and could well be assured of a place in the playoffs.
Mumbai Indians won against the Delhi Daredevils to jump to the 3rd spot. They, however, have got just one match left and it turns out to be their must-win match to qualify for the playoffs. The Delhi Daredevils, too, have to win all their remaining matches in a bid to qualify for the playoffs. They will play the Rising Pune Supergiants tonight. Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore but retain their 2nd spot. RCB, on the other hand, having won convincingly have not only jumped to the 5th spot but also have the best net run rate among all teams.
