IPL 9 is half way through and the race to make it to the playoffs is getting intense. The Delhi Daredevils rose to the second spot with an emphatic win over the table toppers Gujarat Lions. Delhi now have 10 points to their tally in just 7 games. The Gujarat Lions maintained their top spot despite their defeat and have 12 points. Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians also have 10 points to their kitty and it is the net run rate that gives them 3rd and 4th spot respectively.

Kolkata Knights Riders have a chance to be at the top spot if they beat the bottom placed Kings XI Punjab.

Mumbai Indians spearhead Mitch McClenaghan picked up a wicket against RPS to continue his reign at the top spot with 13 wickets. He is followed by his teammate Jasprit Bumrah, who rose to the second spot following a 3-wicket haul against the RPS. Mohit Sharma, too, bagged 3 wickets against the Gujarat Lions to rise to the 3rd spot in the leading wicket takers column. He will have his opportunity to rise to the second spot if he picks up another wicket. A 3-wicket haul would take him to the top spot, since he has played lesser number of matches compared to Mitch McClenaghan this season.
