The Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully defended a modest total of 137 against the Rising Pune Supergiants to make it to the top of the points table with 14 points. The Supergiants, on the other hand, did no good to their position and still remain at the 7th spot. Gujarat Lions are also on 14 points but with a poorer net run rate. Kolkata Knight Riders follow in next with 12 points. Mumbai Indians will lock horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore tonight. If RCB win, they will swap places with the Mumbai Indians in the points table.

If Mumbai wins tonight, they will move into the top 4 and displace Delhi Daredevils from the 4th spot.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a wicket against the Supergiants to rise to the top of Purple Cap list. Kumar, Andre Russell, Shane Watson and Mitch McClenaghan have 14 wickets to their names but a better economy gives Bhuvneshwar the Purple Cap. If Mitch McClenaghan picks up a wicket tonight, he will rise to the top spot. If RCB’s all-rounder Shane Watson bags another wicket, he took will have the chance to make it to the top spot.

The Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore match is sure to see a new purple cap holder if either of these two bowlers take a wicket tonight.
