The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side finally got back to winning ways courtesy a magnificent knock at the top of the order from Jason Roy. Skipper Kane Williamson scored a classy 51* off 41 deliveries, while Abhishek Sharma applied the finishing touches for the SRH side, and scored 21*. Wriddhiman Saha was the first man to depart and scored a breezy 11-ball 18 at the top of the order.

After Saha, Roy tried a delicate shot down the leg side off the bowling of Chetan Sakariya, the ball kissed his willow and settled into the hands of Sanju Samson behind the stumps. Priyam Garg departed for a first-ball duck, was foxed by a change of pace from Mustafizur Rahman, and gave a tame return catch back to the bowler.
