IPL Points Table 2024 Rules
A victory will fetch two points, while a loss accounts for zero points accrued. In the event of a Draw, a point will be given to both the competing teams. Similarly, if a match is abandoned or cannot be concluded due to weather or external agents, both teams will secure one point each. In addition to points, the Net Run Rate will be taken in consideration for higher position on the table in case of equinumerous points among multiple teams. This metric becomes crucial as a tiebreaker in situations where two or more teams have the same number of points.
IPL 2024 Standing Trivia
The seventeenth edition of the IPL presents the opportunity for the freshly-instated Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur to play as the Punjab Kings’s new home venue, with the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam to let the Delhi Capitals use their amenities as their home venue for a couple of games before shifting to their original mainstay, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
In the seventeenth edition, bowlers will be allowed to use two bouncers per over. Additionally, Smart Replay System will be used by the Third Umpire throughout the tournament for making decisions in quick amount of time, significantly reducing the duration taken for making a verdict. Moreover, the gap between two overs must not exceed sixty seconds, and if failed, the team will be penalised for slow-over rate. Notably, two warnings will be given to the fielding skipper when sixty seconds lapse before starting the next over.
