Sunrisers Hyderabad’s medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled the second-most expensive first over in the franchise’s history by conceding 16 runs against Gujarat Titans. Although Bhuvneshwar was hit for just five runs with the bat in the over, it was the 11 wides that took a big toll on his figures. His second and seventh cost him five runs apiece with the wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran failing to collect the ball. While GT earned 17 runs from the over, one run came via a leg-bye.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar was trying to take it away from the left-hander Matthew Wade, but it shaped the other way around and there was nothing much that Pooran could have done as well. Over the years, Bhuvneshwar has been a revelation for the Sunrisers Hyderabad with the new ball with his ability to swing it both ways and there aren’t a lot of bowlers who have an excellent seam position like the seamer.

However, he made a horrendous start against GT and delivered the second-most-expensive over by a SRH bowler. Meanwhile, former pacer Dale Steyn tops the unwanted list, conceding 17 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar, despite conceding plenty in the first over, showed his experience and class in his next over where he went for just five runs. He also picked up the big wicket of in-form Shubman Gill on account of a terrific one-handed catch from Rahul Tripathi. He did pretty well in the death overs as well.

It has to be noted that Bhuvneshwar is a two-time purple cap holder in IPL which is a huge achievement for any Indian bowler and has picked up 146 wickets in 136 IPL games so far.

Sunrisers Hyderabad looking for their second victory in IPL 2022

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai in Match 21 after picking up their first win in the previous game against the Chennai Super Kings. The franchise lost its first two games and was in a sort of disarray until they put up a brilliant performance against the defending champions. However, Gujarat Titans have been the undefeated side so far in IPL 2022 with three wins and have started the innings really well.
