The Men in Blue managed to win the two-match T20I series against Ireland after beating them by four runs during the second T20I played on June 28 (Tuesday). Number three batter Deepak Hooda was sensational as he stroked an excellent century. Hooda formed an excellent partnership with Sanju Samson as Team India crossed the 200-run mark very easily in their allotted 20 overs.
Opening the batting, Samson played a crucial knock of 77 runs in just 42 balls and completely dominated the Irish bowling lineup. To note, Samson was not part of the first T20I playing XI but got his chance after opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was dropped from the squad after facing a niggle.
Meanwhile, a video is going viral on a social media platform of the toss time of the second T20I match between India and Ireland. As Indian skipper, Hardik Pandya announced the changes in the playing XI, the Indian spectators present at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin went berserk and let out a huge cheer after hearing about Samson’s inclusion in the team. Even Pandya was seen wearing a smile after hearing the crowd’s roar.

Talking about Hooda and Samson’s partnership, the duo took India’s score from 13/1 to past the 180-run mark. None of the Ireland bowlers created problems for the talented duo as they completed their fifties in no time. Samson was more of an aggressor between the two batters early on as he went on to smash 77 runs in just 42 balls hitting nine fours and four maximums. However, Hooda took over the responsibility in the middle overs smashing the bowlers at will and reaching the century off 55 balls only.
Chasing 226, the Ireland batters put up an excellent fight as skipper Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling thrashed the India bowlers, but the Men in Blue continued to take wickets at regular intervals. With 17 required off the last over, pacer Umran Malik held his nerves as the visitors won the match by four runs.
