The 35th match of Vivo IPL 10 witnessed some fascinating display of cricket being displayed by both teams Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions which eventually saw the two-time champions prevail in a thrilling super over. Jasprit Bumrah bowled one of the greatest death overs In the history of IPL and saved Mumbai from the blushed. Courtesy the victory they sit pretty at the top of the points table along with Kolkata Knight Riders.

After scoring 153 in their allotted 20 overs, Mumbai looked in complete command of proceedings as long as Parthiv Patel was there. But with some brilliant overs in the fag end by Basil Thampi and James Faulkner, Gujarat clawed their way back into the match. Thampi bowled an exceptional penultimate over where he conceded only 4 runs and bagged 2 crucial wickets.

In the final delivery of his over, a brilliance in the field by comeback man Irfan Pathan send Mitchell McCleneghan back to the pavilion. It was a full-length delivery by Thampi and the southpaw went for a ramp shot. He connected it pretty well but the ball flew towards the fine leg region and dropped just short of Irfan.

He did well to stop the ball and then recovered in time to throw the ball towards the stumps. It struck the timbers directly and McCleneghan was way short of his ground. Their celebrations knew no bounds as it was a crucial wicket at a make or break point in the match. It reduced the visitors to 143/8 with 11 required of the final over.

The man of the moment Irfan was handed over the ball in the final over but Krunal Pandya smashed him straight down the ground for a monstrous six. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was also run out in the 3rd delivery which made things very interesting. Mumbai needed 4 of the last 3 with only one wicket in hand. Krunal Pandya took the safer approach and tied the game before Malinga failed to finish off proceedings as the match ended in a tie.
