Irfan Pathan prompts why it is a bad idea to smear cake on MS Dhoni’s face

The Indian cricket team has a tradition to smash cake on the birthday boy’s face and they follow it quite religiously. It is former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s birthday today and the cake facial awaited him as the clock struck 12:00 last night. However, Irfan Pathan who was a part of the team at various stages in his career reckons it is not the best idea to smear cake on MS Dhoni’s face.

Being a senior member of the team, Dhoni himself stands behind every birthday boy holds their hands and ensures the facial process is smooth and done with utmost satisfaction. The team thus gets two cakes one is used to just rub and scrub not just on the face but all over the body and the other is to eat and share with one another.

Irfan revealed Dhoni’s tactic that makes those who smear him with cake pay for it. He gives his team-mates and those who put it on his face hugs that transfer it the cake back onto them. Thus it is not really a good idea to do that to captain cool. Pathan shared this information in his birthday post for MSD.

He posted a picture from the time they were both new in the team, Dhoni had long locks. Pathan wrote- “If u smear birthday cake on Mahi’s face then be ready to be face hugged by him,wishing u a very Happy Birthday @msdhoni #HappyBirthdayDhoni”
