Seasoned Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan turned 33 on October 27, 2017. The veteran cricketer has been one of the prime all-rounders that the Indian cricket has produced in the recent times. Irfan is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. He is leading the Baroda team in the premier domestic competition.

While the cricket fraternity could not stop wishing Irfan on the day – with birthday wishes coming from legends like Sachin Tendulkar – the fans had their own moments to share on the social media sites.

Needless to say, Irfan was highly humbled with the wishes that he received on the day. In an exclusive conversation with CricTracker, he shared a message for all his fans. “I want to thank each and everyone who called me, sent a message or posted on social media for their warm birthday wishes. It makes me feel special and extremely lucky to have such well-wishers and to have received the regards,” the all-rounder said.

On his rhythm

He further spoke about his form and rhythm in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy. “I am bowling well and with the right rhythm. The first match of the season against went well and at this point, it seems like all I need is to get a few wickets under the belt to get going,” Irfan added.

Speaking further on the same note, the Baroda skipper said that his batting form has also clicked and wants to capitalize on it. He is enjoying his time in the middle and things are only going to get better from here. After a good start to the season, the junior Pathan hopes to continue the good run.

“As a team, we are looking forward to the coming game against Tripura and I want to lead the team from the front with the ball and make inroads. Also, contribute with the bat when the team needs me. It promises to be a great season, and hope things turn out that way,” he stated.

When asked how he spent the special day

Irfan mentioned that it started as per schedule with the Baroda team training session, he cut the cake with his team-mates and then came back home to spend time with his family.
