Much to the agony of Mumbai Indians (MI) fans and supporters, the young left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar could not find his place in the playing XI of the five-time champions MI. The Men in Blue and Gold are playing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their second last group stage encounter of IPL 2022 and have already been knocked out of the tournament.
Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. At the toss, Rohit mentioned that MI has made two changes in their squad with Mayank Markande and Sanjay Yadav featuring in the playing XI. However, Arjun Tendulkar could not find his spot in the playing XI.
Arjun Tendulkar has been a regular feature in MI’s squad
Despite being a part of MI’s squad for the past two years or so, the young left-arm pacer has not managed to make his debut in the toughest franchise-based league. He was bagged by the five-time champions MI for INR 30 lakhs during IPL 2022 mega auction. However, he has not been given a single game by Mumbai Indians so far.
The five-time champions have had a pathetic season so far as they have already lost nine games in their 12 encounters and are out of the competition. MI skipper Rohit at the toss mentioned that they are looking at the future, hence they are giving the chances to young players. Moreover, he also hinted that a few more players will get a game in their final league stage encounter.
The megastar Sachin Tendulkar‘s son has already represented Mumbai at the domestic level and performed decently for the team. MI still has one match left in the tournament against the Delhi Capitals, which is to be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium and the MI fans will be hoping that Arjun Tendulkar finally gets a game for the most successful team in the IPL.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Arjun not making it to MI’s XI for SRH game:
Donβt know what type of mistake committed by #arjuntendulkar who is still warming the bench. Even though #Mumbaiindians have already out of the tournament. #IPL2022 #SRHvMI

Arjun Tendulkar is the only MI fan who gets paid to watch all their match. #MIvsSRH #ArjunTendulkar

@mipaltan For the bright future of promising youngsters Dewald Brevis and Arjun Tendulkar transfer them to other teams, anyhow you are not offering them enough games even after having no chance of qualifying. Arjun don't even deserve two games?! @sachin_rt @MahelaJay #mipaltan

If Arjun Tendulkar #IPL2022 don't deserve to play even a single match Why doesn't Sachin Tendulkar him do any other work?
Isn't that even a match worth playing? #MlvsSRH ππ
